 | Grödig bei Salzburg, August 2008 – AlternativeSMT, one of the largest distributors of refurbished second user SMT assembly equipment, especially known in the UK, France and Middle East, announced today that it has merged with the AdoptSMT Group of Companies. This will enable the Adopt Group, which now incorporates AlternativeSMT, to offer one of the largest selections of second user electronic production equipment in Europe.
AlternativeSMT and Adopt will operate under the same structure and continue to retain independent status. However they will now have access to one another’s stock and service operations. This joint venture is likely to make them one of the largest second user suppliers in Europe.
AlternativeSMT has made its name over the last decade as one of Europe's leading suppliers of refurbished second-user equipment and accessories.
The merger of these two groups will enable them to offer customers a greater degree of service and choice from a single source. They will be able to offer representation throughout Europe and in Asia, Middle East and North Africa from experienced and local support staff with over 35 years of knowledge in the industry.
This larger group will now have a huge stock listing of second-user equipment which will boast Europe’s largest stock of Siemens Siplace machines and production lines. By having a larger stock holding and financial entity the group will have a stronger buying power in the market place. The new group will be able to offer its customers the best possible value in the second user industry.
